Oudenaarde (Aundenaerde in old Flemish) was one of the most important production centres in the XVI and XVII century.

Still nowadays we find the landscapes (Verdure), Hunting Scenes and Cabbage Leaves from that period all over the world. About 12,000 people in the Oudernaarde area earned their living from these tapestries in the beginning of the XVI century and nearly 20 centuries later.

This tapestry is imported from Belgium. Belgian tapestries are reknowned for their intricate weaving and fine design. Both of these elements are certainly present in this amazing piece.
