The Tapestry Store Home | Art | Vertumnus and Pomona

This richly detailed tapestry recalls Ovid's story of Vertumnus and Pomona.

As the tale goes, everyone loved Pomona but she rejected all suitors. Vertumnus was smitten with her and decided to disguise himself to get closer to her.

He pretended to be an old woman and told Pomona a story about a young man who was rejected by his love and hung himself. Pomona was not impressed with the story, but when Vertumnus removed his disguise, she fell in love with him anyway.

This gorgeous piece is woven in Belgium from a 91% viscose, 9% acryllic blend. It comes backed with lining and a tunnel for hassle-free hanging.

Vertumnus and Pomona comes in 2 sizes to choose from: 27 x 33 and 51 x 57 inches.
