This religious wall tapestry is a panel from the Altarpiece by Domenico Ghirlandaio.

This tapestry called Angels (altarpiece vertical), hand woven in Belgium, is inspired by the work of the artist Domenico Ghirlandaio, a Florentine renaissance painter, famous for painting frescoes in churches, in the 15th century. Michelangelo apprenticed under him.

It has a messenger of God- as angels were referred to, poised majestically, against a blue background. The folded hands and the shapely fingers, and of course, the ﾑangelicﾒ face is captivating in detail and composition. The golden locks and the salmon pink of the wings blend with the shades of peru of the robe worn by the angel. The color peru is used on the ribbon sized border framing the tapestry too. The bright red of the sleeves of the robe form a sharp contrast. The interplay of different colors, all blending, emphasizes the work of a master weaver.
